“True happiness occurs only when you find the problems you enjoy having and enjoy solving.”

Mark Manson

Have you ever sat down and asked yourself, “What’s my purpose?” I know, deep question, right? Not something the average person probably thinks about on a weeknight. I am with you. I would rather zone out watching Parks and Rec on my phone than think about my purpose.

But let’s just say that you have found yourself on a completely different life path than a few years ago. Once sure of your purpose you now question it every day. Sure, you have a new job but you think to yourself, “Is this really what I am meant to do? For the rest of my life?”

The truth of the matter is that only you can answer that question. And even harder is the fact that you may answer with, “This is not what I am meant to do” so then what?

“What are you willing to struggle for?”

Mark Manson

Think about it. Everyone thinks it would be great to be a professional athlete but few are willing to put in the work. It’s an absolute struggle to stay in shape and play hard every game but it’s a struggle that makes them happy.

What is that thing that others think is a struggle that you absolutely enjoy doing? If you find that answer then you are on the path to finding happiness.

So maybe instead of asking, “What’s my purpose?” we begin to ask “What am I willing to struggle for?”
