Have you ever felt stuck in life? Do you feel like there are no other options and this is your lot in life and nothing will ever change?

Oh, you don’t. Ok, good me neither.

Who am I kidding, these feelings pop up all the time for me. They usually show up after I have a tough day running my painting business. I think, “Really God this is it? I thought I was supposed to be a pastor!”

So then I go searching to see if any pastoral jobs are available. Yep, there are tons. But a new job in a new town means I would need to move. If I move I would have to change the current custody situation which means I may not see my kids as much. Which is not worth it so we are back to painting…forever…

This isn’t to make you feel sorry for me because my situation isn’t unique. Other people have way worse situations.

It’s a reminder to be faithful.

When these thoughts arrive, I am reminded of Moses waiting 40 years before God called on him. Or David running from Saul for years before he gets to sit on the throne.

Or Jesus whose whole life led to one event, his crucifixion. Jesus felt stuck and even prayed asking God the Father, “if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” -Matthew 26:39

Yep, I might just be stuck…stuck exactly where God wants me.
