“What one generation tolerates, the next generation will embrace.”
-John Wesley
Wow, that is an absolute kick to the stomach because you know it’s true, just take a look at our world.
Think about what is allowed on TV now. To think my mom wouldn’t let us watch Friends which pales in comparison to today’s shows.
Or more controversial is that I remember when gay marriage was first made legal. People talked of how it was only the beginning of more things to come but those people were called crazy and bigots because this was just about love. Now we have men dressing like women and it is celebrated as part of the Olympic’s opening ceremony.
Or what about women quitting college or their jobs to make millions selling their bodies online and the world calls this empowerment.
But you can also feel the wake of people beginning to push back against the current tide.
Maybe my mom was onto something.
What’s it called when you drink so much you need more and more each time to get the same buzz? Oh…tolerance. We have become desensitized that what once was shocking is now the new starting point.
Many Christians are afraid to speak up because they don’t want to come off as unloving but is it really loving to watch your neighbors descend further and further into their sins knowing what the outcome will be?
If you someone is drowning, you would jump in and save them, right?
