“All at once he followed her…like a deer stepping into a noose…little knowing it will cost him his life.” -Proverbs 7:22-23

“Yuck! That was the grossest thing I have ever seen. Why would anyone watch that?”

Little did he know that that video was his first step into the noose. Next, he would find magazines and then the World Wide Web that could feed his every desire.

That was middle school.

At first, it was the thrill of viewing material he knew was inappropriate mixed with the fear of getting caught. Slowly it turned to obsession as it consumed his every thought.

Like an addict looking for his next fix, he had to find a way to watch.

Instead of growing up as nature intended his heart and mind were warped by the trash he devoured. Learning to deal with and regulate emotions was short-circuited as he sought to cope with the stresses of life by turning to his addiction.

The addiction had its noose around his neck and was slowly tightening. Constantly stressed from scheming to get his next fix mixed with avoiding getting caught mixed with the shame of his secret sin, this boy now a man was hollow inside.

FLEE! Burn the videos, magazines, and computer! Destroy it all now before it consumes you! That young boy would have given anything to get back the years lost to this darkness.

FLEE! Run to the light as if your future life depended on it!

  1. As an addict my self that is so true folks.
Don’t just walk…. RUN RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
    Addiction will take it all.
Luckily there is forgiveness and help from God and the right church.
That church may have even been one that you wronged during your addiction.
Love the posts. Keep them coming.
