My alarm went off this morning my first thought was, “Ugh I wish somebody would get up and turn that off for me.” Well, that did not happen so I was forced to get out of bed to do it myself…and hit the snooze

Wouldn’t it be nice to get rid of alarm clocks forever?

This got me to thinking that the alarm clock is like the sin in my life. Left to my strength I will never overcome my sin but will have to constantly “turn it off.” It will be an endless cycle of me enjoying life then BEEP BEEP sin comes blaring at me again.

Unlike my alarm clock, I have someone who has turned off the power of sin in my life. This doesn’t mean sin is gone from my life rather I don’t have to get up and fight it myself.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.”

1 Peter 3-4a

Through Jesus, I don’t have to get up and turn off my sin. He has done it for me. Not only that but has given me a new life and an inheritance. An inheritance where I will never have to deal with sin ever again so I can just rest in his Glory forever.
