…but not for everyone.

This might be the first holiday without a loved one. Or a divorced parent is sitting staring at the tree in an empty room since it is the other parent’s holiday.

For some the holidays are just another reminder that life is not how they planned it to be. So instead of being the most wonderful time of the year it’s the most painful time of the year for them.

Yet there is hope in midst of the darkness. Just like the star that shone bright some 2000 years ago leading all to the hope found in a baby lying in a manger so that hope is still shining bright for all of us today.

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins…The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”(which means “God with us”).”

Matthew 1:21, 23

This is the hope of Christmas. God, the Creator of the Universe, stepped down into creation to dwell among his creation. To show us first hand the love that God has for all. Ultimately displaying that love by taking our place on the cross and dying for the sins of all.

You are not alone. God is right there, sitting with you in your pain holding you with his nail scarred hands to remind you of his “love that surpasses knowledge.”
