“What is the hero but the person who does the hard thing because it’s right.”

James Sexton

Staying back to fight the oncoming horde so others can get away. Facing the enemy alone to put a stop to their evil plan even if it means you may not come back.

For most of us, we will never be in any of these types of situations. We may never face a horde of zombies but we may have to take a stand that makes us unpopular. No, most of us will only be everyday heroes which isn’t a bad thing. Doing feats of heroism that will never end up on the news.

What does it look like to be an everyday hero?

Fighting your demons so they don’t attack your family. It won’t be easy but it’s the right thing to do.

Clear the path for others to follow. Leading the way into the unknown.

Forgive first even if the other person never apologizes. Letting go of that anger and hurt.

Give up that addiction you continue to turn to time and time again.

Everyone can have a moment of heroism but to be a hero is a daily choice. Doing the hard thing is to consistently choose to do the right thing.

Show up for your kids. Serve your spouse. Give your best. Be a person of integrity.

Make the hard decision and do the right thing.
