Recently, I was sharing some of my business struggles with a fellow business owner and they shared these three words with me, “Win the day.”
Nothing profound. Just a simple mindset shift.
I could continue to be frustrated with how terrible the day had started or make a shift to “win the day” and that’s what I decided to do.
Instead of getting mad that a certain project continued to hit snag after snag, I paused that project and started on another project. Not only did I complete what I wanted to do on that specific project, but I also made progress on a few others as well.
This mindset stuck with me through the weekend. Instead of doing random projects or wasting the day on social media and TV, I made a to-do list.
There are several projects I have going on at home so I carved out time to focus on each for a specific amount. Of course, I made time for a nap as well.
Rather than letting the day happen to me, I planned for it. Sure, it won’t always go as planned but at least I am prepared for whatever may occur.
And if I stick with a “win the day” attitude I can turn any failure or obstacle into a lesson instead of a setback.
