It was from this verse that I got the name for my painting company. In the NIV version, it says, “God..will himself restore you.”
The definition of restore is “improve something until it is as good as it can be.”
I thought this was a great idea for what I wanted to do for my customers, but even deeper is what I wanted God to do for me.
But how?
Interesting you ask because I just found the answers in the previous verses. Crazy thing is that I just made this connection even though I was already doing these actions.
Verse 6: Humble yourselves
7: Cast all your anxiety on Him
8: Be alert and of sober mind
9: Resist the Devil
I did all these things and have seen God begin to restore my life.
I humbled myself and quit trying to fix everything in my own strength.
I gave all my pain and anxiety to Him.
I found freedom from porn.
I continued to flee from temptation so I could have a clear mind.
By doing this I begin to find contentment in my circumstances and was able to say, “This is where God has me so I am going to make the best of it.”
