“God, I don’t want to go this way! I want to stay on the old path!”
Parents, have you ever had to physically drag your kid to where you want them to go? Maybe you are a better parent than me so you have only seen other parents do it. Either way that’s what it was like as I fought against God.
I remember God speaking to me to saying,
“Trust me son.”
“God I am scared. What if this new path hurts?”
“Well, you can stay on this path that has already caused you so much pain, leading to a dead end. Or you can follow me on this new path. There will be times of pain but at the end is life.”
It sounds crazy to say out loud but God had to break my will before I would submit. I wish there would have been any easier way but that’s what it took to break my stubborn pride. And as painful as it was, I can confidently say now that it was worth it.
By embracing the obstacles, I was set on a new path that has radically changed my life.
I could sit here blaming others and complain about how life is unfair.
But that attitude is what got me here so…
Time for change…time to take ownership.
“See things for what they are.
Do what we can.
Endure and bear what we must.
What blocked the path now is a path.
What once impeded action advances action.”
