“It’s all over. My life is over. What’s the point? I am just going to be a lonely loser the rest of my life.”

Then my friend put his hand on my shoulder, told me to take a breath then said, “This is a moment in life, not your whole life.”

I couldn’t see it because what was happening felt like my whole life was over. All the work I did to get to this point, and it’s just over.

But it wasn’t over. Just that chapter in my life was over. Yes, it was still painful but I had hope that I still had more life to live.

I could look at this as a dead end or the beginning of a new path.

You might feel like you are drowning right now and maybe you are but take hope. This isn’t the end.

Your response to this moment will dictate how the next few years go.

Change your mindset from “I have to start over” to “I get to start over. I get the chance to start fresh.”

This is just a moment and it will pass. You are going to make it.

Now it ‘s time to get to work on healing so you can begin writing the next chapter.
