How do you handle your anxiety when:
It keeps you awake as thought after thought races through your mind.
It jolts you awake with a thought just as you try to start a new day.
We all deal with anxiety at some point in our lives. It’s the struggle to control a future event that may or may not happen. That’s what makes us anxious; the maybe’s not the facts.
We create these scenarios in our heads that make us feel helpless because they are out of our control.
Anxiety and I have become good friends over the years. Well not sure I would call it good but we are well acquainted.
Single dad business owner. Yeah…I have lots of anxiety.
So what do I do when anxious thoughts fill my mind? I stop. I take note of them and then pray. Wish I could say that I always go to prayer first but that isn’t always the case. When I pray I simply ask God to help me process my thoughts.
Then I go through each thought to see which ones I can do something about. If I can, I work through how to overcome each issue. If I can’t, I let it go.
Our mind can’t handle all that extra weight so there is no use in hanging onto those thoughts of things that will never happen. Focus your energy on what you can do something about.
