“When we worry, we live in the immediate. We want comfort and security, and we want it right now.”

Sissy Goff

I mean, who doesn’t want comfort and security? Isn’t this what I am supposed to provide for my kids as their dad?

This is something I have been wrestling with for a few months now. I ask myself if all this work to grow businesses is worth it. More specifically, I wonder if I should strive to make significant life-changing money or just enough.

I convince myself the right thing to do is to keep grinding away so I can make money and finally get to enjoy some real comfort and security.

If I just had more money then most of my worries would just go away. Probably not. My worries and problems will only intensify with more money.

So then what? Should I not strive to provide comfort and security for my family?

When life is comfortable what usually happens? We get lazy. Worrying shows up when life gets hard and we are made uncomfortable. We would rather come up with a list of “what-ifs” than deal with the issue.

Security isn’t a bad thing but it shouldn’t be the goal. Why? Because a very wise man once said, “In this world you will have trouble.”

What’s the answer then? Learn to wait. Develop patience. I did not say sit and do nothing rather remember that God is in charge and He has a plan. So quit worrying and trust His plan.
